EVERYDAY I LOOK AT YOU WITH DIFFERENT EYES

EVERYDAY I LOOK AT YOU WITH DIFFERENT EYES, EVERYDAY I SEE IN YOU SOMETHING DIFFERENT

There were days of looking and days of you looking back at me. Softness interrelated with sharpness, rough edges sticking out, moist surfaces bending in. From a specific angle, you could see her everyday pulling in and then stretching out, trying to reach what she had left behind previously. You were curious to find out her intentions, but most of all, you wanted to understand if she was aware that you were watching from afar. Being a faithful spectator but also an honest friend, you couldn’t wait for that moment when she would see you in your new jumper, the one with patterns that match her colors. ‘I once was a wave, and I bet you were too’.

Using as a starting point the desire to blend with and relate to the ever-changing coastline of Kjølnes fyr,  this is a series of works from upcycled textiles, natural fibers, dried kelp and monotypes that explore the concept of material and historical layers, “gazing” as a power structure, mood and topos.
